    • The area was once a hunting preserve for the Maharajas of Alwar. It was declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1955 and later became a tiger reserve in 1978 under Project Tiger.
    • In the early 2000s, the reserve faced a crisis when its tiger population was wiped out due to poaching. However, a successful reintroduction program brought tigers back to Sariska, and the population has been gradually increasing.

    • Jeep Safari: Jeep safaris are the best way to explore Sariska and observe wildlife. The safaris are conducted twice a day—morning and evening—and are led by experienced guides and drivers.   • Kankwari Fort:

    • Located within the Sariska reserve, Kankwari Fort is a historical site built atop a hill. It is known for its panoramic views and historical significance. The fort was used by Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb to imprison his brother Dara Shikoh.

  • Pandupol:

  • Neelkanth Mahadev Temple:

  • Summer (April to June): Summers can be hot, with temperatures soaring above 40°C. However, this is a good time for wildlife enthusiasts, as animals tend to gather around water bodies, making them easier to spot.

  • By Air: The nearest airport is Jaipur International Airport, located about 107 km from Sariska.
  • By Train: Alwar Railway Station, approximately 37 km from the reserve, is the closest railhead. From Alwar, taxis and buses are available to reach Sariska.
  • By Road: Sariska is well connected by road to major cities like Jaipur, Delhi, and Alwar. State-run buses and private taxis are available for travel.
